A-l13, commanded by Capt Harper, was located at A Shau,
Thua Thien Province, I CTZ, during the period 21 August 1964 to
16 February 1965. The Detachment was given the mission of surveillance
of the Vietnam-Laotian border and interdiction of VC routes of communication.
In August, the camp was virtually destroyed by Typhoon TILDA causing
a suspension of long-range operations while the camp was being rebuilt.** |
